Honor Magic 2 is back with Kirin 980 chipset, 100% FullView Display and more


On August 30th, the night before IFA, Honor Play made its global debut in Berlin despite it has been revealed in many regions in the past two months, but it is the first time Honor Play ever stand on the international stage and confidentially introduce itself to people from all over the world. Whereas, the thunder of Honor Play was stolen by the surprising announcement of the coming Honor Magic 2, a successor which has been waited two years after the Honor Magic 1. This time, it is doomed to be something innovative, special and magical.

According to Honor’s president, George Zhao, the launch of the second generation Magic phone, the Magic 2, is on schedule. It will carry the latest Kirin 980 chipset, a beautiful 100% FullView display, and 40W Magic charge. Backing to about two years ago, Honor launched the first generation Magic phone. The Magic lineup of is considered to be the most innovative and bold Honor product line which deliver Honor's the top-of-the-line tech, craftsmanship, and design. Just like the first generation Honor Magic marked the beginning of the AI era upon its debut on December 26th in 2016, the second generation Magic phone is bound to make a difference.

Judging from the real Magic 2 model displayed by George Zhao, it has this immersive 100% FullView display. What makes this possible is the slideable back panel, this theory is similar to the old-time slide phone we used to use. By sliding the back panel a little bit up, the front camera appears. Kirin 980 is the next generation flagship chipset from Huawei. Designed to be a tough vigorous rival to the coming Snapdragon 855 chipset, it will be widely used in Huawei and Honor flagship phones. As Kirin 970 has proven its capability in the past year, it is really exciting to have an upgrades version of it. As its predecessor features in lightning charging speed, this function is likely to be passed over to Honor Magic 2. And things will be taken further if the battery capacity of Honor Magic 2 can be largely improved as it is hardly satisfying on the Honor Magic especially to heavy users.

The exact release date of Magic 2 hasn’t been exposed yet but it is really exciting. Honor has launched a wide range of quality smartphones in 2018 including Honor Play, Honor 9N, Honor 10, Honor 7A and Honor 7C. And the Honor 8X and 8X max are making their debut next week in China. Hope Honor will keep on and bring more good quality phones in the future.
